We're excited to announce the first ever Cinemaclique Film Festival - Shot on Smartphone Edition. We'll be screening the best short films shot on smartphones from creators in Southern Illinois and all over the world. This two day event will include screenings, filmmaking panels, networking events, and award show to top it all off. Entries open on November 1st on filmfreeway.com and will close February 1st. Cinemaclique filmed our first club project, a short film entitled, "The Audition" in late September 2023. The movie is a dark comedy written and directed by Cinemaclique founders Andy Farmer and Charlie Queen that follows the twisted fantasies of a local theater nerd when she loses another role to her talented best friend. The film was self-produced and filmed at the Historic Liberty Theater in Murphysboro. The crew consisted entirely of Cinemaclique club members working under the instruction of experienced industry professionals. It was an amazing learning experience for all and resulted in a hilarious film.
We will release the official trailer soon, both on this page and on our Youtube channel. The film is set to premiere at the Historic Liberty Theater in January of 2026. More info on how you can see the movie coming soon!
